If you are a parent, you know how quickly puzzles can accumulate.
If you also have a small amount of space allotted for those puzzles, you understand it can be frustrating figuring out how to fit them all in.
Here's how I {Belle} solved this dilemma.
First, I broke down each cardboard box.
Depending on the size of the puzzle box, I used a quart size or storage size plastic bag.
I then chose either the front cover of the puzzle from the box or a side piece.
I simply placed the cover inside the plastic bag...
Added the puzzle pieces...
...and voila!
All our puzzles neatly organized with room to spare!
I like.
And so much more durable than the boxes! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteAnother real good idea is to put a mark on the back side of each puzzle piece. Like on the Scooby Doo puzzles have a star on the back and Dora has a smiley face on each back of her puzzle pieces. This way if they get mixed up you know that the star goes to Scooby and the smile goes to Dora etc etc.
ReplyDeleteBecause for some reason puzzle pieces seem to get with the wrong puzzles when it comes to kids!
That is a great idea! I was just arguing with my 5 year old about his puzzles being scattered all over today! I might have some thing to do tomorrow on a snow day! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jenni!
ReplyDeleteTa da! What a great idea! I bought my youngest a bunch of puzzles this past Christmas. While I love for him to have them, it does take up a good majority of his bookshelf. This is genuis!
Have a wonderful day tomorrow!
Hugs,
~Michelle :)
I love the idea..... as long as I don't have to DO them all to check the pieces are all there!!! X
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea Belle! That would be a lot better than those huge boxes:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very clever idea. Way back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and my kiddoes were little, I thought I would never get the puzzles under control. I think I finally started using freezer containers (or coffee cans for larger puzzles), gluing the puzzle picture to the outside, but then I marked the back of each puzzle piece (had the kiddoes help) with a letter or color that related to a particular puzzle. That way, when I was cleaning and found a stray puzzle piece, I knew which puzzle it belonged to. I like the zip bag idea better, but we didn't have such things way back then!
